Order and set up DATEV data services

What the integration provides

The application reads approved accounting and master data from DATEV Cloud. It does not write postings back to DATEV.

Data can be retrieved only after it has been made available in DATEV Cloud for the selected client.

1. Coordinate customer and tax adviser

  1. Agree on the DATEV client whose data will be retrieved.
  2. Agree who orders the data service from DATEV and who administers the required DATEV permissions.
  3. Agree which data categories are required and who may retrieve them in the application.
  4. Ensure that the accounting data and required fiscal years are available in DATEV Cloud.

Never share DATEV credentials, a DATEV SmartCard, DATEV SmartLogin, or registration codes with the software provider or another person.

2. Set up DATEV Datenservice Export Rechnungswesen at DATEV

  1. Open DATEV's central setup path: set up DATEV data services.
  2. Depending on the operating scenario, order and activate DATEV Datenservice Export Rechnungswesen for the firm or the relevant client.
  3. In DATEV Rechteverwaltung online, assign the required permissions to the person who will authorize the connection.

When using MyDATEV Mandantenregistrierung, select DATEV Datenservice Export Rechnungswesen. The permission template is named Rechnungswesen Export Daten Service.

If the tax adviser authorizes retrieval, do not assign these permissions through MyDATEV Mandantenregistrierung. The firm assigns them afterwards in DATEV Rechteverwaltung online. If the person performing setup lacks administrator rights, a DATEV permissions administrator must assign any deferred permissions.

Detailed DATEV instructions: Order DATEV Datenservice Export Rechnungswesen using MyDATEV Mandantenregistrierung (document 1039548).

3. Connect the application

  1. Sign in as an application administrator and open the overview.
  2. Select Connect DATEV Datenservice Export Rechnungswesen.
  3. Use your personal DATEV sign-in method and authorize the displayed access.
  4. Return to the application. It verifies the DATEV clients for which the data service is actually enabled.
  5. Assign the displayed DATEV clients to authorized application users.

The status changes to connected only after DATEV confirms access. The overview also shows the authorizing identity, connection expiry, and DATEV client ID.

4. Verify commissioning

  1. Select Load fiscal years for an assigned client.
  2. Select an eight-digit fiscal-year ID and retrieve its configuration first.
  3. Then retrieve only the data categories agreed with the customer and tax adviser.

Setup is complete when the connection is shown as connected, the correct DATEV client is listed, and at least one expected fiscal year loads successfully.
